PRIVILEGIA Congregationis Sancti Benedicti Portugalliae. Romae: Ex Typographia Titi & Pauli de [Dianis], 1589-1596.

†6, †††6, A-Z4, Aa-Rr4, Ss2; [24], 324 pp., 2 gravs.; A-B4, 16 pp.: il.; 230 mm.

Rare work that brings together all the privileges relating to the Order of St. Benedict in Portugal. The work was organized by Fr. Paulo do Touro, he was appointed by the General Chapter in 1570 as procurator in Rome to request confirmation of the Privileges granted by the Holy See to the Congregation in Portugal, having remained in the Vatican for eighteen years. In 1596, Fr. Anselmo da Conceição compiled a second part of just another 16 pp. Very rare.
