SECOND EDITION much more important than the first for the additions that the author published. Inocêncio affirms (IV, 289) that «In this work the author offered to the literati and scholars subsidies of great value, and a copious source of bibliographical news for national history». The work was divided into 4 parts: 1. Historias del Reino, e do Ultramar, in prose and in verse by Authores Portuguezes Ms.; 2. From Stories of this Kingdom and Overseas in Prose and Verse by AA. Printed Portuguese; 3. From Histories of this Kingdom, solely relating to Lives, positively written by AA. Portuguese, of certain Sovereigns of Portugal, of some of their August Wives, and of several of their Serenissimo Descendants only in prose Ms., and Printed; 4. From Stories of this Kingdom, and Overseas by AA. Foreigners, also only in prose, in print. A rare piece in the bibliography of the very important typography of Arco do Cego.
