DIDEROT (Denis)
LETTRE sur les Aveugles, a l’ Usage de ceux qui Voyent. A Londres: s.n., 1749.
[ ]2, A-S, alternadamente 8 e 4; 220 pp., 6 gravs.: il.; 170 mm.
FIRST EDITION, we believe that it is the third state, of an important text by Diderot, the last of a more subversive nature that he published under his name during his lifetime. The work is a dialogue with a blind man through which a reflection is presented on the relationship between reason and knowledge acquired through perception. Shortly after the publication of this work, Diderot was arrested in Vincennes and it clearly marks a turning point in the philosopher’s thinking. Very rare.
