FIRST EDITION of this famous account of the journey of Father Manuel Godinho of the Society of Jesus. The work reports what the Jesuit missionary, still young, encountered on the way to India who, due to the continuous attacks by the Dutch to which the Portuguese maritime fleet was subject, decided to make his journey overland. Very rare.
