Having passed just over three months after the suspension of «O António Maria», the continuous relationship between the two editorial projects is evident, whether in the form or content of the publications. The present publication was successful, as evidenced by its long life. “The reception of Pontos nos ii, in line with that achieved by the previous title, reflects the changes that the press registered during the second half of the 19th century: the increase in the number of titles available and the number of readers coincides with a greater demand for the objective information, rather than opinionated, and also of a sensationalist or popular nature.
