Interesting biographical work on the Marquês de Pombal with a view to reviving the public debate on the possibility of erecting a statue in his memory, a project that had been in place since the end of the 19th century. XIX and that would only be inaugurated in 1934. The author, when biographing the statesman, seeks to justify the merit or lack of merit of the statue. Very rare.
