FIRST EDITION. The work was composed by José de Morais Feijó, a Jesuit who holds a degree in Theology from the University of Coimbra, born near Bragança in 1688, for the instruction of the Duke of Lafões, D. Pedro de Sousa Tavares, of whom he was master. This spelling treaty was followed and studied in Portugal for many years despite several attempts to withdraw it.
