PRIMEIRA edição desta bonito livro sobre a ilha da Madeira, sua história, usos e costumes, ilustrado com 27 águas tintas e uma vinheta no frontispício das quais “vinte e seis das gravuras são deliciosas charges, e a última, já sem feição caricatural, representa a fortaleza do Ilhéu, o celebrado Loo Fort dos ingleses. O frontispício da obra tem uma vinheta que mostra uma vista do Funchal”. Vinte das gravuras vêm reproduzidas na História do Trajo popular em Portugal de Alberto de Sousa.
