Lot 17:
[BÍBLIA. Vulgata]. s.l.: s.n., s.d. [s.XV?].
Manuscrito sobre pergaminho; 545 fólios não numerados; 155 mm. Encadernação moderna em pele rosa; corte das folhas carminado, por vezes cortando os títulos superiores; restantes margens intactas e de boas dimensões.
BEAUTIFUL manuscript, probably from the 15th century, superbly decorated with small capital letters and some ornaments, with the complete text of the Vulgate, from Genesis to Revelation.
Entirely on parchment, in very small folios and in a very small font, each folio is 140 mm. tall, containing up to 50 lines in two perfectly aligned columns. Note that each line is only 2 mm. thick, but still, each letter and abbreviation perfectly drawn, demonstrating the enormous qualities of the copyist, most likely a monk.
We were unable to discover any date, authorship or other reference, but it is clearly a manuscript made with enormous care and refinement, adorned with capital letters of varying sizes and other notes in blue and red.
