First Italian edition, profusely illustrated with a total of 64 maps (the present copy with only 63), including 27 showing the world as it was known to Ptolemy and 37 modern maps (of which one is missing in this copy), in addition to several illustrations in the text. The maps cover the entire known world, including the "New World" and also include a world map with a double hemisphere, the first to include such a map in an Atlas. A rare and important edition.
